Sketching William sketches of a scruffy hound - and sometimes I add a little orange terror called Hamish

The sketches....... often a quick pen outline ~ sometimes a photo and work from that.

I draw what he gets up to, no matter how the finished drawing looks. I hope you enjoy seeing them......ann

How does he know when dad is about to arrive home...

...he may have been out for over an hour, but William always seems to know when he's about to pull into the driveway.

  1. It's a sixth sense, Annie has it too. It's amazing how they know these things, but they do!

  2. Just saw a segment on the news about how dogs "tell time". It only discussed dogs indoors waiting for their people to return home. Their sense of smell is so well developed, they can tell how long it has been since the people were in the house and develop a sense of how much scent is left when the people are due home! I couldn't explain how this explains a short and not-regular absence.

I enjoy your sketches and posts about William So much!

    1. That is interesting to know. I think they could teach us a lot, although I think perhaps William already has us trained! .... Really pleased you like the sketches :)

  3. I saw an interesting piece on TV the other day. Something to do with how long your scent stays in the house after you are away is how they figure when you will be home. Don't know how true it is, but apparently they had various house pets on closed camera surveillance.
