About Sketching William.......

About these sketches....I have various techniques for capturing William. Apart from quick pen outlines to remind me of his pose, I will take a photo and work from that. When he stands still long enough, I'll do a complete sketch en plein air ~ All the drawings are things he has done and been up to, good or naughty, all forming a permanent reminder of those little things in life that makes having him so worthwhile. I admit not all the drawings are complete or perfect in any way, but when I originally set out to capture him, I decided they would be fun and to get too hung up on perfection would take away that fun. I hope you enjoy seeing them......ann

The holdall

A while back we found a random holdall,
I'm sure William thought it was another dog
playing tricks on him...

In fact there is a story to this...if you have time to stop and read...

We were on one of the usual walks and found a holdall, left abandoned it would seem.  Thankfully, there was a camper van couple on holiday nearby, who told us that a camera crew had been there filming about an hour before.   Sure enough the holdall contained lenses, cameras etc.

About twenty minutes later a van turned up with two very worried looking guys, sure enough it was theirs.  They explained they had been filming, off loaded the van but had forgotten to put the holdall back in their van!!!!      Their relief that the holdall was safe and hadn't been stolen was obvious, the next days filming would have been ruined.    They actually wanted to pay us for finding it - no way, but we did accept a nice bottle of red wine - cheers guys.

(Think I would have been worried if I'd lost a holdall containing £15,000 - [$23,400] worth of equipment too - wouldn't you)!!!

  2. They were very lucky indeed for it still to be where they left it! I hope William had a treat for standing guard over it :-)

  4. Thanks JJ, Eileen and Robin....we were relieved they came back for it...and we made sure they were the right owners, only the right people would have known what was in the bag.
