About Sketching William.......

About these sketches....I have various techniques for capturing William. Apart from quick pen outlines to remind me of his pose, I will take a photo and work from that. When he stands still long enough, I'll do a complete sketch en plein air ~ All the drawings are things he has done and been up to, good or naughty, all forming a permanent reminder of those little things in life that makes having him so worthwhile. I admit not all the drawings are complete or perfect in any way, but when I originally set out to capture him, I decided they would be fun and to get too hung up on perfection would take away that fun. I hope you enjoy seeing them......ann

Then there is that slightly hacked off expression....

....when he wants to go home.

He stands with 'an expression' that says:

"Well, aren't we turning round and heading back"!

incidentally, he waits until we actually turn around...
now whose in control here!

  3. Are you sure you're reading William's expression right?
Annie looks hacked of to be going back home,
she'd stay on the beach forever if we'd let her :-)

    1. Yep, he definitely wants to go home! This is when we are on a track above the beach. When he has had enough that's it, end of, and we just know he wants us to turn around and go home. :)

  4. Oh they are in control for sure. Annie goes to the door when we are outside and she is hot and tired being out there and stands with ball in mouth glaring at us. If she wants to eat she stands at her dish looking at us. We can almost tell time by her actions. :) Interestingly we can also almost tell time by our Chickens coming begging at certain times of the day and peering in the windows. Who needs a watch?? LOL great drawing as usual.

    1. William tells us when he wants his dinner too! It can be very predictable can't it. Have to laugh at the thought of your chickens telling the time :)
